Cards from Cards on Cards II - A Trade Post

Got home from work the other day in the pouring rain (yes rain, not snow) and found a surprise bubble mailer from Kerry of Cards on Cards all the way from rainy Portland.

Starting off with my first 2015 A&G relic of now free agent Mike Minor. Still think there's a chance the Braves bring him back if he gets close enough to Opening Day without signing on somewhere else. He made 5.6 million to not throw a single pitch last year so I don't feel too bad for the guy.

This Ace of Diamonds Smoltzy may be my favorite card in the package. Even has a old school card back - I searched google for "ace of diamonds John Smoltz" because the card is in the other room and found this....

Don't think Topps printed any of these bad boys up in '84, here's the link to a pretty cool article on John - SMOLTZ

Ok sorry for that but sometimes laziness pays off my friends.  Here's a cool fold out card of maybe the 2 best pitchers of the 90's that is pretty relevant all these years later. Greg Maddux and that other guy..

I'm on a hot streak on picking these cards up 1 at a time either at shows or through trades. Eddie looks pretty young there.

This Murph's frame is embossed and makes for a great looking/feeling card in hand.

Kerry sent a bunch of PC guys but this Deion was my favorite new addition being from one of my favorite sets ever.

Kerry sent new stuff too, a rainbox foil of EY Jr. and the last base card I needed from Topps '15. Just in time for Topps '16 in 5 days!!!

Love this green refractor of Justin the Tiger.

19 days til Baseball guys, my countdown lasted all of one day.. Kerry sent this and a bunch of other set help off my want list.

Like a lot,  thanks a ton man!

Kelly's back for his third tour with the Braves, let's see where he went in between.
8 teams in 6 years including his 2nd stint in Atlanta. Talk about a journeyman.

If everything goes to plan I should be here on April 9th taking in the Braves and Cardinals so here's to you Kerry, thanks for all the great cards.

Trade with Nachos Grande - 2015 A&G

Saw this box topper in one of Chris's Nachos Grande Ginter posts last week. I offered some mini inserts he needed and before I knew it this was in my mailbox. I never buy boxes (2 kids will do that) so this is an awesome addition to my collection.

He even threw in some bonus Braves so Freddie wasn't lonely on his journey down south. Was missing that Bream for my team set - Score!

I'd never even seen this set til I ripped this package, I guess I have alot of holes to plug in the ole collection from '02-2009

How many trades come with an auto of the guy sending the cards - brilliant!

I had seen these awesome Munnatawket minis on other people's blogs and was jealous, well now it is my turn. These are awesome, love that shot of Freeman. Thanks for all the great cards Chris, I hope to trade again soon.

Adventures in Ginter retail

Picked up a rack pack and a loosie of the newest baseball card out there - 2015 Ginter

My favorite card was this Dragon which puts me at 12/20 of the Menagerie of the Mind set.

Here's the minis, a black bordered card of V-Mart who can't seem to stay healthy anymore. The Felix is yours if you need it Dimebox Nick.

Simmons was the only Brave I pulled but I had them covered from my LCS purchase last week. My first card of Addison Russell who looks to be the real deal.

Anybody trying to complete the Starting Points set? These are yours. Gus looks odd without logos, just looks like some guy in a visor.

Obligatory Ginter Post

Been into Target the last few days and struck out so I headed to the LCS down here in Ft Lauderdale to see if they had packs.

Only boxes and I avoid those but he had busted a few and had a box 'o singles.  Of course I grabbed the team set with a few extras for PCs even.

3 minis as well, why the hell is Kimbrel a Brave in this set he's been in San Diego since March but he's a PC guy so score!

Also picked up the baseball writers (who cares about anybody else from ESPN) The Rocky cards, a Kimbrel insert and a Souza Jr. on the Rays.

Grabbed over half the Menagerie of the Mind set and the only Ancient Armory card that matters - the tomahawk.

2 more inserts

Some more minis to close, I got another 100 or so baseball/football singles all for the price of a blaster and got most of the Ginter cards I wanted.  I'll probably end up buying some retail when I see it but this scratched the itch for now. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics I've been working out of a town for a couple weeks now.
