Card Show Pickups

So I guess I'm addicted to flea markets as well just realized I've made 4 trips between the last 2 weekends. 2 of those were last weekend for the monthly Tampa Card Show.

1987 Moeller High School Ken Griffey Jr.

Picked up a couple pre-rookie Griffins including this one of him still in High School.

1988 San Bernardino Spirit Ken Griffey Jr. #34

While I don't actively collect Griffey cards I usually pick up cooler looking ones on the cheap. If any of you serious Griffey collectors need either one just let me know and I'm sure we can work something out.

You need this one Tim? I didn't have any baseball cards of Wilson so I nabbed this one.

There was a guy with a huge box of '15 Bowman Draft amongst other prospect type cards. Grabbed these
shiny Braves in their old uniforms. There was a graphic during the rain shortened broadcast last night that since the end of the 2014 season they've made 25+ trades involving 80+ players....crazy Right to left I'd guess these guys start at AAA, AA & AAA with Blair being the next man up to the bigs.

So true...

Out of that same box for 4 bucks I couldn't leave this PC auto behind.

Glad to finally get a sky blue refractor of a Brave. Austin Riley is the next great hope at third base which has been a black hole since number 10 retired.

SI Chipper, yes please. Baby faced Freeman, hit me again.

Hey all those guys are enshrined there now. May just have to make a trip to visit their plaques when Chipper gets enshrined.

Ok last 2, love finding these Finest cards with the film still intact though I'm always tempted to peel it

Thanks for stopping by!

Post: Not quite Kellogg's but still cereal cards

As a kid eating cereal was never about actually that - eating the cereal. It was all about the baseball cards hidden inside the box. I never got to complete a set back then but still have a few cards from the glory days when cereal came with baseball cards buried inside.

As you can see six year old me didn't take care of his Griffey cards too well. Looking back at all my Griffey cards they all have some bend or crease somewhere probably from me and all my friends passing them around in awe as we played this:

My favorite player was Chipper Jones growing up in Atlanta but Griffey was close and being a kid I thought any card with Griffey was cool even base cards. Try telling an 8 year old a base card isn't cool. I'm sure we were drinking Surge and eating Hot Cheetos as well. Anyways here's the back of the card:

Here's some more from '94 Post:

Suprised I didn't feed this card to my dog, the Phillies beat my Braves in the 1993 NLCS. I actually did destroy players cards I didn't like as a kid. I remember me and some friends burning a bunch of  Yankees cards after the '96 Series... Sorry Tim.

The Big Hurt, as a kid I never notice these cards didn't have logos but they are all shot where that fact is pretty unnoticeable.

This is one I've received recently through a trade, I never had good luck pulling Braves as a kid even out of cereal boxes.

I can't recall pulling these out of the box as I was only 4 years old at the time but these are still pretty cool looking cards and featured some future Hall of Famers.

Like this guy, I thought George Brett was a cheater as a kid from seeing the pine tar attack highlight so many times but now realize he was just an angry bastard.

Full career stats - gotta love it.

Same with Darryl Strawberry. I just remember the bad things like him getting busted for Cocaine.

Flea market / '91 Bowman

Got the first 3 at the flea market today, I'll collect anything Deion but this is my favorite so far with him going from Brave to Falcon. The Glavine I had to grab for the throwback uni and I think that might actually be my first Don Sutton looking to start a PC of him as he's my favorite announcer.

The Bowmans are just my favorites from my binder of that set, not going to compete this set so if there's any cards your looking for let me know. The Griffey is really off center and the Larkin Gold bats are only like half filled in with foil.
Thanks for looking
