Angus Sends a Big Ol' Box of Everything

Angus from Dawg Day Cards told me a while back he had "some" Lightning cards to send me a couple weeks back..

Then this showed up from the Great White North. It had a little bit of everything inside but let's start with the aforementioned Lightning. 

This on card auto of Killorn is my first of his numbered /199. The Bolts wrapped up thier regular season last night with an ugly 5-2 loss to Montreal who like every other Canadian club missed the playoffs. 

Angus also sent this sweet sticker-graph of Tyler Johnson who unfortunately got hurt last night. Hopefully it's nothing serious as the Lightning are already banged up. 

Love this red refractor Stamkos card who unfortunately had surgery to remove a blood clot and is out anywhere from 1-3 months. Callahan, Hedman and Kucherov are banged up as well and Stralman our best defender is out with a broken leg. Jo Drouin has come up and scored twice in 2 games so hopefully he can get hot and make up for the loss of Stamkos.

Parallel action here with a pair of Palats.

Vasi probably played his last game of the year last night unless Bishop gets hurt in the playoffs (again). He let in some soft goals last night in Montreal but is one of the better backups in the league in my opinion. Ben Bishop will determine how far this team goes in the playoffs. 

Angus also sent a bunch of Falcons cards including these of the "Big 3" on offense.

This Jake Matthews auto he had pulled himself. This is my 2nd auto of his but this one is much shinier and nicer than my other one.

Love this mini auto of Tevin Coleman, I've actually bid on this exact card a few times but have always fallen short. Thanks for knocking this one off Angus!

This is where the package went into a awosome 90's tailspin with  a little bit of everything. Absolutely love this Jamal card.

Told you it was a little bit of everything - phone cards, acetate, tie-dye. You name it.

A whole bunch of Andersons, I can never get enough kicker cards.

Thanks again for all the great cards Angus. I just got back from a weekend trip to see the Braves, while the results of the games weren't great I still had a great time and came home to 3 trade packages to blog about! Thanks for reading and GO LIGHTNING!

Trade Post: Tripling Up

There's no way around it, I've been slow to to get trade posts up lately. Part of that was I got like 10 packages in a 2 week span and in that same span I was trying to get 15 or so packages out to all of you (which I finally did Tuesday)

Anyways let's get to the cards, Jim from the dormant blog GCRL dropped a Deion bomb on me recently. This Upper Deck is a supersized card and is already on my wall with all it's oversized friends.

Here's the stack of Deions he sent over. I think this particular package put me over the 100 mark for Primetime, I need to do a count.

A couple of my favorites, that Stadium Club rainbow insert is crazy. 

Best Seat in the House, no lie Topps. This insert set needs to come back if only for that sweet stamp. 

More new Deions, that middle card is too cool. The guys got a toothpick in his mouth talking BP and you know he's rocking his hold chain. That Electric Blue CC on the rights not too shabby either. 

Not quite sure what's going on with this one, Deion appears to be busting out of a giant TV into Fulton County Stadium whilst ripping his Braves uniform off...?

This next batch of cards came over in a surprise mailing from Adam of Infield Fly Rule fame. He was one of the first few people I traded with when I started this blog so I always love seeing packages come from him. 

He hit me with some team set needs..

Even threw in some early Stadium Club, I need to get a check/want list together for all the Braves Stadium Clubs as I'm close on a few years. 

Adam who must have X-Ray vision also sent me these "Braves on the Back" which will go backwards in the former Braves binder

Lastly Fuji who writes the eccentric blog The Chronicles of Fuji sent me a one card envelope. 

A Chrome Draft of Matt Withrow, his brother plays for the Braves and should compete for a bullpen spot this year. I honestly don't know much about Matt.

The Braves, In Order - A Trade Post

Tom from The Angels, In Order sent me a fat stack of Braves recently, let's dig in. 

Starting off with a trio of minis. One of these guys actually still plays for the Braves though he's on his second stint. 

This awesome Murph pin was also included

Dale got his 1,600th hit exactly one month after I was born. I looked up the score of the game on the day I was born the day my son was born,  the Braves lost both days. Maybe that means by the time my son is 4 the Braves will be good again.

Fleer Ultra was awesome, love that dugout shot of Javy. 

Donruss sucks now but it used to be one of my favorites every year as a kid. 

This Andruw Hot Commodities is printed on cardstock very similar to last year's Diamond Kings set, very cool insert. 

Andruw bomb! I think these combined with the sixty or so I grabbed out of a nickle box at the flea market recently put me over 100 different Andruw cards. I guess I need to make him an official PC and start my campaign to get one of the best center fielders ever into the Hall. 

GOLDDDDD! Sheff always looked weird as a Brave even though he hit the cover off the bask his lone season in Atlanta. 

This trade package was assisted by Papoy all the way from France.

New Neon cards are always welcome no matter what country they come from. 

Thank goodness for baseball cards or noone would remember Deion played for the Giants. Loving all these Pinnacle cards.

There's Gold in Them Hills

Well I'm still waiting on 2015 Bowman Draft to show up in Target, I thought I had read online that it was going to  be retail this year but oh well. I signed up for a box break on Instagram for the Braves and a couple of other teams so I'll just wait to see what I got out of that before ordering any more cards because in the mean time..

I got my first Dansby Swanson card in the mail the other day. I ordered this almost immediately after news broke that the Braves had acquired the 2015 1st Overall pick in a blockbuster trade with Arizona.

Chrome too! As I have said on this blog before Dansby is from the same town - Marietta - as me. The last time the Braves had a #1 overall pick on their team he was also a young shortstop from the south named Chipper Jones. Hopefully Dansby can come even close to the player Chipper was. The Braves just hired Chipper yesterday to be a special assistant to the GM. 

I've got a couple more Swanson cards on the way but it looks like I'm going to have to wait a while for an auto as prices are a little high ---- EBAY

Sticking to first round picks and the Diamondbacks here's a Distinguished Debut of Touki Toussaint from 2015 Pro Debut. Touki was the Diamondbacks #1 pick just last year and the Braves basically traded cash for him. Looking forward to seeing what the South Florida boy has as he supposedly has a verrrry high ceiling.

Is this a Diamondbacks blog? No the Braves have just ransacked the Diamondbacks system over the last year or so. Here's a 2015 Inception Auto of 2013 First Round Pick Aaron Blair who could debut for the Braves this year.

2014 Bowman Chrome Draft Scouts Breakout Die-Cut Refractors #BSBAB Aaron Blair

Here's my first Chrome card of new Brave Ender Inciarte. He should be the Braves everyday CF next year and a huge upgrade over Cameron Maybin. 2015 War - Maybin 1.0, Inciarte 3.3

This here is my first 1951 Bowman, crease and all I love it especially the little hut in the background. The Earl of Snohomish hit .292 with 24 homers and 92 RBI in '51 and got a few MVP votes but somehow Jim Konstanty beat out Stan the Man to take the title.

I have other '71s but this is my new favorite. Would be cool to have a copy of this card unsigned just to get it really signed if that makes any sense. This card is pretty much perfect I'd say.

Getting close to having all the flagship Sutton's with this one, I still need his rookie card and one or two more now.

The 2016 Braves will probably not be good. Maybe I will be wrong and they have some 1991 miracle season but I don't see Terry Pendleton and Steve Avery on the roster but I could be wrong. All three of these guys could make their debut next year and we'll find out.

What can I say? I like Heritage Minors. Everybody's excited for Christmas and I'm excited about pitchers and catchers reporting in 2 months! 2016 MLB Spring Training Countdown

I need to buy a blaster of this stuff. Glad Panini brought Contenders back to baseball. 

Albies is 18, Allard is 19. Whole bunch of baby Braves in this post, hopefully this card foreshadows great things.

Like this, can't believe I had missed this one from Stadium Club last year. Though I'd like to forget the '96 World Series.

This is my new favorite Deion card, there are others like it but this one is mine. Plus it's a Members Choice parallel, now I just need the base to go with it.

Saw that Deion basketball card on Tim's blog not long ago and was stoked to add it to my cart for 50 cents or so. The Clear Vision is a perfect example of why I like buying singles online. I would never bust a whole box of that stuff but it's a really cool acetate card for less than a buck it's a really cool addition to my Primetime PC.
