SportLOTS of Bowman Chrome

Ordered some cards off Sportlots.com a few weeks ago to keep myself from going crazy buying 4 card packs of Bowman Chrome.

I figure I'll show one guy who is actually still playing baseball.

One is a top prospect that steals tons of bases, one was traded for a thirty year old unknown and the other is the franchise cornerstone.

I'm excited to see Sims and Jenkins pitch in Spring for a spot in the rotation. Fried came over in the Justin Upton deal and just started throwing again after Tommy John but is a former first round pick with lots of upside. The 3 veterans will all be back with the team next year unless they join the traded club before then which wouldn't shock me for any of them honestly.

I believe these 2 finished my Finest team set for this year.

Ordered this card without having seen this set and it's what I expected nothing too special but it's a new Freeman card so I had to have it.

This picture looks to be from the World Series in '96 I suppose. Great shot as usual from SC.

I am slowly but surely inching closer to completing this set, it's by far my favorite since re-entering the hobby a little over a year ago.

As the great Roddy White once said "Pick your poison", this year's offense looks pretty damn good.

Love that both these are rain shots. Hopefully Hardy debuts soon and it looks like TeCo may be back this week to be Lightning to Devonta's Thunder.

Heritage Minors all the way from Minnesota

Saw that Brian over at Highly Subjective & Completely Arbitrary opened some packs of the new Heritage Minors at his LCS the other week. I asked him if he could pick me up a few packs and he said we'd work something out.

When I got home from work today there was a stuffed bubble mailer sitting on the counter. Inside was a note and 2 packs wrapped in cards and a note saying he had packed some Braves in as well in case the packs were duds. They definitely weren't let's see what's in pack number one.

3 Lefthanders I've heard of were all inside, Giolito will probably take Fister's spot in the rotation on the broken down no good disappointing managerless Nats.

Only 2 autos to a box and one got shipped all the way to Tampa. Sclafani was a 14th round draft pick in 2012 and has hit .318/.399/.388 over 2 seasons in AAA.

Love these inserts, the other inserts in the set look great as well. I've seen complete sets going for around $30 on the bay. I'm considering taking the plunge..

Here's pack #2.. I think I know somebody that could use that Taillon

The hits keep coming in this pack with this orange bordered card #'d/25

Help me out here guys is this a gum stain variation or just look like one?

This card didn't come from either of the packs it was one of many awesome Braves Brian sent over in the package in addition to the packs. I'll give those there own seperate post as there's some really good cards in there. Thanks for reading and thanks for the cards Brian.

Off Hiatus - A Trade Post (no really for real this time)

Received a package from my favorite city in the world the other day Tony L. over at Off Hiatus. He packed a pretty good mix of all the teams I collect

I believe Avery is to blame for my lifelong love of lefties, him and Jeff Blauser were my favorites from before I remember.
My son throws a baseball and football left handed at one so i'm hoping he's a lefty when he grows up.

Klesko is another of my old favorites I need to pick up the Fan Favorites Archives auto from this year.

I need all the help I can get on most Topps set older than '88 especially that Bob Walk stache. I want Torre's jacket.

If you need one card to represent 1983 this one would be in the running.

I had asked for this card on one of Tony's posts a while back, this thing is sweet looks to be a photographers sample.

TRUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Didn't have this one,  he had a scoop and score in Sunday's blowout against Houston, can't wait to see what they do to the Washington Football Club Sunday.

I would like to see this play as the interception looks ridiculous.

Glanville needs to write a book,  love all these Pro Set cards as they were some of the first football cards I got as a kid.

Spikes was my favorite defensive player on the '08 championship team, I'm sure Tony was glad to jettison this one from the ol' collection. Can't wait for Jacksonville! Gotta go to Colombia and Death Valley first though,  should be fun.

These are my first Chelsea cards i'm ashamed to admit. Cech is playing for our number one rival who looked amazing on Sunday vs Tony's Man U. We'll see though hopefully Chelsea avoids relegation games layer this season as they've played like utter shit thus far. Mourinho looks to be on the way out... again.

Lampard sadly joined the ranks of old timers in MLS 2 years ago. I'm planning my first trip to an Orlando City game soon with some friends.

Way before my time but still great cards.

How did I not have this beautiful card???

Thanks for all the great cards Tony. I always keep an eye out for Brewers for you and will continue to do so.

Flea Market Finds - Eleven Dollars and A Dream

Stopped into my local flea market the other day and sniffed out some cardboard. I only had 11 bucks cash on me so I made my purchases count, here's what I walked away with -

1 pack of 1999 UD Choice, I think this one of the last packs I opened a bunch of as kid before falling away from collecting, always loved UD and CC so here we go.

Best base card I got was the greatest hitter that I've seen so far.

Got the cover boy as my insert,  can't complain about that.

Picked up this awesome oversized "Master Photo" of Deion from '92 Stadium Club, don't know if i'll frame it but for a buck I couldn't turn it down. This card is one of my favorites of his with the Wrigley ivy in the background.

I may have a few of these but for 25 cents each I just grabbed all the Braves he had in the '75 box.

Picked up a nice little stack of these '89 Pacific Baseball Legends cards for $3. It was probably about 30-40 cards so not bad for less than a dime a piece. This was the card on top that sold me on the team bag full.

I am a sucker for spring training shots and they don't get much better than this one.

Some more greats, I'm probably gonna send that Doerr card to the man himself as my first TTM here soon just have been slacking on all things card related (except buying them of course) since I started my new job about a month ago.

Another vendor who has all sorts of things - records, SLU action figures, Hot Wheels, nudie mags, Gatorade, war books... had an opened box of these Fleer Brilliants and told me $5 for the box. If I had more cash I probably would've jumped but picked out 10 cards for $1.

You didn't think I'd go a whole post without showing some of my 4-0 Falcons did you?

This was randomly in the box and I got it for a dime, really like these might make an effort to chase this subset. Thanks for reading and how bout them Gators?!

Shoebox Legends - A Trade Post

Set up my first trade with Shane over at Shoebox Legends not too long ago and got a loaded bubble mailer in the mail the other day.

This is my first Electric Diamond parallel from '95, I've always loved this set and pretty much anything Upper Deck.

These may just be base cards but their cards of my man Smoltzy. That Fleer set is new to me, the other 2 get me that much closer to finishing those team sets.

Mini Mike Bourn, he had a RBI last night. The team is gonna have him mentor Mallex Smith next year,  can't wait to see that kids speed play in the majors.

Horacio Ramirez,  Jo Jo Reyes, Mike James.. so many lefties I wanted to work out that didn't. This card is ironic since Horacio is our replay review guy now.

Another new to me set, another great thing about trade packages is the sheer randomness I almost always get cards I've never seen before and I love it.

Love this shot, this is one of the Flagship sets I have like 3 cards of so this was a welcome addition.

Needed it!

Thanks for all the great cards Shane, i'll get another package together for you soon.
