My wife told me to load my COMC cart up a few weeks before Christmas so I did. I felt like a kid that knew what he was getting waiting to unwrap the mailer shaped present with all these goodies inside. I guess this is the swirl version of this year's Topps Hi Tek.
This is my first auto of the Braves first round pick this year. Allard now has signatures in Contenders, Draft and Bowman's Best but this one is pretty neat as it's his first autograph card plus it's #'d 16/50.
Same with this one, Riley was a 2 way player in high school more regarded as a pitcher up until last year when his power developed at the hot corner. Considered an overdraft at 41st overall in the Summer. Austin went on to hit .304 with 12 homers and 40 RBI over 60 rookie ball games.
Minter was the last pick on the first day of the Draft going 75th overall to Atlanta, he was more highly regarded up until like a lot of the arms recently acquired by the Braves he had Tommy John surgery last season. Big college lefty with plus stuff, hopefully he'll recover nicely. This card is #'d/299
There were a few nice Freeman cards inside including this Museum Collection from this year serial numbered 85/99.
This Finest refractor from last year #'d/199..
This insert from this years Finest was one of my favorites using the 1995 Finest design.
GOLD! Late to the party with this parallel but it's purdy so it gets a spot in this post.
Bubble Refractor from last year's Bowman, Shae should be back in late May or June with his 100MPH fastball to bolster the Braves bullpen.
Hopefully this guy can get it together to stay out of the bullpen with his high 90s fastball and solidify a spot in the rotation. This is from the National Convention packs they gave away. I got it without going all teh way to Chicago.
Last one is of Daniel Winkler who made his debut last year in Atlanta after being picked up from the Rockies in the Rule 5 Draft of 2014. Thanks for reading and Happy New Year.
Great cards, LOVE the Bubbles Refractors. Happy New Year! PWE on its way to you in tomorrow's mail!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, did you get mine. I sent out a bunch before Christmas and have stacks of outgoing trades ready just haven't had time with the holiday my card desk looks like a warzone
DeleteNice cards. I wonder how many of those draft picks will get to the majors before being traded away. :( Granted, we're "rebuilding" so I guess it's more likely than not that we'll hold on to them.
ReplyDeleteNice cards all around.
